Betty J. Boyer Healthcare Support Mission

Betty Boyer was a USS Haven Founding Member and a long-time Star Trek Fan. Her voice of support and enthusiasm was a significant factor in our organization and growth in Central Florida.

Due to serious health issues, Betty became a resident at Hunter's Creek Rehab Center in Orlando in 2005. After a long period of suffering, she went on to the Final Frontier in March of 2007. She will always be missed.

As a Star Trek Club carrying on the tradition of Hospital Ship USS Haven AH-12, we have an intrinsic interest in assisting folks in our Community who have Healthcare Issues. It is our goal to do what we can to offer our time and talent in our own unique way to Children and Adults with Special Needs, to Patients suffering from chronic and painful illnesses in area Medical Facilities, and to Nursing Home Residents.

Fleet Admiral Betty J. Boyer, USS Haven Founding Member (1928 - 2007)

Schedule permitting, we are available for costumed appearances with Children & Adults at Special Needs events, and for others in Healthcare and Rehab Centers throughout Central Florida for Movie Parties, Photo Shoots, Ice Cream Socials, and a variety of Themed Gatherings with patients, residents, volunhteers, and staff.

If you are not in Central Florida we will assist you in locating a Star Trek Club in your area to work with you locally.
There is NO charge for our services. We do encourage a reasonable donation to Central Florida Toys for Tots if possible.

We'll assist with ideas for designing a themed area for our visit. We'll arrive in costume, meet and greet each patient/resident individually, provide themed music if requested, and take as long as necessary for photos, questions and whatever else you have in mind. Movies and Television episodes are available if you wish to share a video with residents.
