Santa's Been!

When my daughters, Dawn & Lisa, were children, their Mom and I always encouraged them to leave milk and cookies out for Santa on Christmas Eve. After they were sound asleep, we put out a batch of unwrapped toys around the tree...usually the things they wanted the most. Someone always drank the milk and ate the cookies (gee, who could that have been?). On Christmas morning we were usually awakened by Dawn & Lisa banging on our bedroom door hollering: "Santa's been! Santa's been!"

THANKS to our Volunteers from Orlando's USS Haven and IKV Fek'lhr's Hoof, Daytona's IKV Hup Hoch, and Tampa Bay's USS Gasparilla and KPV Ancient One, along with Students of Millennium Middle School's Delta Flyer Team and Poinciana High School's FIRST Robotics Team who pitched in to help out this year.

Your Volunteer efforts, combined with that of so many good-hearted folks in Florida, ensure that hundreds of Central Florida children, who would otherwise not have received much, will be waking their parents on Christmas morning each year banging on their bedroom door while hollering "Santa's been! Santa's been!"
 		 
This year our volunteers collected and donated over 600 toys through this program. In addition to donating toys, our presence at Santa Saturdays, hosted by WFTV CH. 9, entertained hundreds of children, parents, and others sharing in this valuable Community effort.

Over the 58 years of the U.S. Marine Corps Reserve Toys for Tots Program, Marines have distributed more than 332.5 million toys to 158.7 million needy children. This charitable endeavor has made U.S. Marines the unchallenged leaders in looking after needy children at Christmas. Over its 14 year life span, the Marine Toys for Tots Foundation has supplemented local toy collections with more than 55.5 million toys valued at more than $284 million; plus has provided promotion and support materials valued at over $3.2 million
